Review of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (film)

It’s been 24 hours since I watched Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (film).
It was everything I expected and more.

After watching Sonic the Hedgehog (film) in 2020, I was pleasantly surprised with the movie. The studio was able to take the source material and make changes that made sense for this new version of the character. It was fun, witty, and above all else, Sonic.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (film) follows up from the first film. After sending Dr. Eggman to Mushroom Planet, Sonic is playing the hero of Green Hills. Tom Wachowski, Sonic’s adoptive dad, notices that Sonic still has a lot of learning to do as he’s young and reckless in his heroic endeavors. Tom and his wife, Maddie, leave for a wedding in Hawaii and leave Sonic to his own devices. Dr. Eggman manages to escape Mushroom Planet and along the way, meets Knuckles the Echidna. Knuckles is on his quest to find the Master Emerald, a jewel that grants the user magnificent power. To avoid spoilers, Miles “Tails” Prower manages to get tangled up in this adventure but believe me, it makes sense in how he gets introduced. It’s a race to find the Master…
