Looking Back on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Replaying the 2023 action-adventure title with a fresh set of eyes. Spoilers ahead.
With the PC release less than two weeks away, it’s about time I revisited Insomniac Games’ latest project. Now that it’s fully complete with New Game+ and most of the bugs/glitches fixed, is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 still worth checking out?
From October 2023 to now, January 2025, a lot has happened with the Burbank studio. The company experienced a ransomware attack, leaking sensitive data including employee information, an early build of Marvel’s Wolverine, and the company’s plans through 2032.
The attack negatively affected Insomniac Games as the team tried to get back on track to updating Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine.
In the leaked documents, plans were made for Spider-Man 2 DLC which included villains like the Beetle and Carnage. Because fans don’t understand that we weren’t supposed to see this information, this would begin the “Where’s Spider-Man 2 DLC” across all their social media platforms.
